10 FOR TUESDAYS PART THREE

“Studio choice is always a difficult process, and StudioBookers are helping that process become easier, and more convenient.”

If you were stuck on a desert island, who would you want to be stuck with, musicians or otherwise?

Haha! I've always imagined being asked this in an interview, yet I've never thought of an answer! I'd say someone like Zooey Deschanel, as she'd be really nice to look at whilst marooned and possibly starving. Also she's a musician as well as an actress (film being another subject I'm obsessed with), so the conversation between us would go on forever!

What artists in the chart are you impressed with at the moment?

I'd definitely have to say Christina Perri, her voice is so unique, and her songs are so heart-wrenching and deep, especially for an artist in the charts.

I do admire Ed Sheeran for how well he's done, given that he was on the same level as me about 18 months ago. His songs are also nicely written, very worthy of their high chart positions, especially for such a young DIY artist.

How important is it to find a studio that suits you when recording?

It's the difference between a great record and a waste of money. A lot of people tend to overlook the prospect of travel when looking at recording locations, especially on a local level. Convenience and affordability tend to take priority, understandably so. However, if you're investing money in creating and capturing a piece of your music career that will last forever, in the long run those two points should be dismissed without question. It's all about the final product. One of my favourite producers, Steve Jordan once said 'It doesn't matter if it takes you 10 hours, 10 weeks, or 10 years to make a record, the public only care about the final product.' and if you're not happy with the recording environment, you will hear that on the final product. If your recording environment is not used to your style of music, and has had to accommodate and compromise it's usual set up, you will hear that on the final product. Studio choice should be one of the longest processes in preparing to record.

What do you think about StudioBookers and why would you recommend it to your friends.

I think it is a great tool for musicians, especially those who are without commercial backing, who are looking to get themselves into the mix. Studio choice is always a difficult process, and StudioBookers are helping that process become easier, and more convenient, so that the only problem you have to face is making sure you're ready to make the most of the recording experience, and you deliver a final product that you can use to further your career in anyway possible.

I’d like to thank Chris for taking part in the first ever '10 For Tuesdays.' I also urge you all to check out his music on the following mediums:
