10 FOR TUESDAYS - FRANCIS BOWIE

Welcome back to our weekly '10 For Tuesdays' features where we ask musicians/producers and also our own staff 10 questions of our choice. This week we have singer-songwriter Francis Bowie in to answer our questions. So lets get straight into it.

When did you start making music and what was the main reason behind it? When I was about eight years old. I apparently just have to do it.

Who are your main influences?
Placebo, David Bowie, The Doors, Roxette, The Cure.

Who would be you favourite artist to collaborate with?

How do you think the Internet has helped independent musicians?
I don’t know if it has. Availability and self-promotion I guess. But it has
become harder to get the attention of the right people in the industry.

What do you think are the most unique challenges faced by an indie
artist?
To get heard by the music industry.

If you were stuck on a desert island, which other artist would you want to be stuck with?

What artists in the chart are you most impressed with at the moment?

What do you like to do when you’re not making music?
I like to paint, create sculptures, cook and make love.

How important is it to find a studio that suits you when recording?
The studio is not as important as your musical ideas and the will to create something good. But a great studio is of course always very appreciated

What do you think about StudioBookers and why would you recommend it to your friends?
It is a brilliant idea and I will definitely try it out. If it works, then why not recommend and talk about to other musicians.
